Here is our 4-hour car orientation tour for newly arrived visitors.
You will discover some of the highlights of the Eternal City. These
include Classic, Christian and Renaissance sites that are reminiscent
of the past by displaying the artistic and historical memories of
Rome.
Maximize your tour experience by determining your own pace and comfort
level, while being escorted by one of our attentive
English speaking drivers. You will be driven by your bilingual guide,
and will ride comfortably to each site.
You won't need to use a street map, locate addresses or parking areas,
flag down taxis or even figure out how to
return to your hotel. No worrying!
The tour includes:
Car pick-up at the hotel followed by a transfer to Saint Peter's Basilica,
the greatest church in Christendom. It is awe inspiring to walk through
grandiose St. Peter's Square. Michelangelo's mighty cupola dominates
the scene, blending into the sky above while conveying a sense of
the absolute and infinite, certainly touching the souls of all who
gaze upon it.
The next stop is located in proximity of Gianicolo's panoramic view.
Here is where you will enjoy one of the most spectacular views in
Rome as you face the banks of the Tiber River.
Then there will be a brief stop in front of the "Acqua Paola"
which was commissioned by Pope Paul V. Your guide will drive to the
Trastevere District, recalling ancient legends and Medieval beliefs
prevalent in that society.
We'll then reach the heart of the city at the Piazza Venezia. It is
one of the major traffic junctions linking roads such as Via del Corso,
Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via del Teatro di Marcello. As they converge,
you will understand the saying that "all roads lead to Rome".
A short drive will then have you at the ramp leading to Capitol Hill
and the Forum. You will gaze down upon the ruins of the Roman Empire
before marveling at the magnificent Piazza del Campidoglio. It was
designed by Michelangelo to house the political power of Renaissance
Rome.
