The car will pick you up at your hotel in Rome, followed by a transfer
to Pompeii, the most important archeological site in the world.
Set to the southwest of Mt. Vesuvius and not far from the Gulf of
Naples, Pompeii is known throughout the world for its tragic destruction.
In 79 AD, Mt. Vesuvius violently erupted and the resulting ash was
deposited upon nearby Pompeii. However, the city's remains that
were excavated at the end of the 18th century continue to preserve
the evidence of daily life at that tragic moment. It's as if the
city had miraculously come to life
once more. You will see a bakery, theatre, gymnasium and public
bath among many other areas. All stand as sentinels to a time and
lifestyle literally sucked breathless in a split second, and then
entombed for almost 2 millennium.
As you walk among the remains of the city that was buried beneath
30 feet of ash, you will realize that nothing compares to the magic
and mystery of Pompeii. Daily life, religious beliefs and government
organizations will be discussed by your knowledgeable tour guide.
You will then be off to the picturesque and peaceful fishing village
of Positano. It is renown to be Europe's most beautiful seascape.
Your lunch in a local restaurant will be a memorable one as you
gaze out into the Tyrrhenian Sea. You will then be able to take
a fine stroll among the terraced and colorful houses, as well as
the many shops with creations by local artisans.
You'll then enjoy your scenic motor tour on the way back to Rome.
All the tours can be modified and adapted to every demand!
